EDUCATION IS THE WEAPON WHICH CAN BE USED TO CHANGE THE WORLD. SPEECH BY MOHAMMAD IBRAHIM KHOKHAR

Allah almighty, glorious GOD and the creator of universe, the sustainer of life and cherisher of dreams creates Adam from dust,

The vile dust but exalts his status then angels, and when angels object, ALLAH commands Adam to reveal the names of things,

And the education becomes the first point of man’s superiority over all the creations.

ALLAH reveals the Holy Scriptures, the final message to mankind and the first revealed line is (IQRA) “read with name of thy Lord” and this single line changes the lot of barbaric, inhumane, adulterated, corrupt, bankrupt and polluted Arabs of deserted peninsula into the leading, guiding and enlightened nation of the world. Yes Mr. President, worthy teachers, respected fellows, ladies and gentleman, let me announce here from this sacred platform that “Education is the most power full weapon which can change the nation”.

Education is in fact a miraculous weapon that kills the forces of ignorance and heals the wounds of lawlessness and inequality. It is the weapon that helps Greeks to win the “war of troy”, and that enables Homer to sing the songs of Odysseys.

It was weapon of education that Sophocles heralded to Greeks and later on enabled Alexander to defeat Persia and conquer India.

Yes Mr. President, it was education that enabled the defeated, downtrodden, peevish and poverty ridden Israelis to stand against the tyranny and dictatorship of Pharaoh and win peace and prosperity.

And who could have inflicted the heavy and lethal loss to Roman and Persian Empires of Ceaser and Pervaiz, if Muslims had not strengthened their defense with the weapon of Education.

From English Renaissance to Arab spring, the Education plays a vital role in prosperity and progress of the world. It is the education that brings equality, merit, justice, brotherhood, tolerance, harmony, enlightenment and development.

And today when the man stands proud in progress of Human civilization in 21st century, it is education that determines our worth among other human beings.

Yes Mr. President,

That is why Mandela rightly says that “Education is the most powerful weapon which can be used to change the whole world”.

Let us cast glance on world map from North America to South East Asia we find progressive and prosperous nations along with peevish and poverty stricken nations. When European giants take lead in economy and prosperity and even Japan the poorest in natural resources stands exalted in GDP and human index level, we find the richest African countries in term of natural resources suffering starvation, hunger, terrorism, loot and plunder, then we stand witness to support the topic of the day that it is only education that changes the lot of nations.

Yes Mr. President,

Education and Education alone can change our destiny and our way of life.

Education teaches us the ways of life and makes us ready to fight for life, education ensures prosperity, education ensures security and education ensures integrity. It is education that establishes the sense of goodness, honor, pride, nationalism, peace, brotherhood, and humanism among us. This is weapon that we can use to change the menace of terrorism, extremism, racism, favoritism, and nepotism.

Let’s all stand united to equip ourselves with this latest weapon to defeat our enemies. Our enemies are corruption, terrorism, intolerance, sectarianism and ignorance. Let’s shoot all these enemies with the weapon of education.

And I am sure with this useful weapon we can win back our honor and glory, the way Alexander defeated Persia, the Israeli’s defeated pharaoh, the Muslim silenced Caesar and the way Japan and China emerged successful after world war II. The world will sing our song and the modern Odyssey will be odyssey of our nation fighting the battle of survival with the weapon of education.

To conclude, I would like to invite all of you to join the Crusade against ignorance by equipping yourself with the weapon of education for I strongly believe that education is the only weapon that we can used to change the world. I thank you all.

SPEECH ON HEROES BY MUHAMMAD IBRAHIM KHOKHAR

Not gold but only man can make,

A nation great and strong.

People who for truth and honour sake,

Stand fast and suffer long.

With these beautiful lines of American Poet Emerson, Mr. President, worthy teachers and my dear fellows, let me be very much clear to announce with proud that the history of any nation is in fact the history of its heroes.

What makes a nation strong and great??  Wealth ? Riches ? Land ? or water not at all Mr. President not…

Greece is renowned because of contribution of Socrates, Aristotle and Alexander the great.

Romans are known far and wide because of Caesar and same is case with Islam.

Yes Mr. President after Prophet (pbuh) it was courage of Abu Bakar, The justice of Omar, the wisdom of Usman and the bravery of Ali (AS) that Islam reached out to all nooks and corners of the world.

Mr. President let us peep into the recent History of India. From Sir Syed Ahmed Khan to Dr. Muhammad Iqbal and from Ali Brothers to Mohammad Ali Jinnah the story of independence of India is in fact the story of heroic deeds and heroic pursuits.

When the war of independence failed, the lean and fragile Sir Syed took lead in funding Muslim youth to wage a new war with new weapon of education.

When British aggression increased its wrath, at that time the brave sons of Bi Aman stood like firm stones to defeat imperialist designs of English. The tongue of Shoukat Ali and pen of Mohammad Ali Johar wrote the new history of Heroism in India.

But Mr. President, wait !!! Wait !!! and let me tell you the biggest tale of heroism.

The matchless and unparallel leadership of Jinnah, the tall and weak hero who made impossible come possible, who told world that miracles can happen and who renewed the spirit of faith and commitment in human heart, made history realize the worth of heroism. The world pays him rich tribute for his untiring efforts and unbelievable tale of achievements.

Yes Mr. President, Jinnah and Iqbal not only set the standards of heroism and hero worship but in fact created the lands of future heroes.

Pakistan the land of leading philanthropist Edhi, the home of scientists like Salam Khan and Qadir Khan, the proud mother land of Ali Moen Nawazish and the youngest Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousfzaee is the land of heroes. Should I name Aizan khan the defender of school attack as hero or I pay tribute to those brave boys of Army Public School Peshawar??

Should I mention Arfa Karim Randhawa? or salute Maryam the pilot fighter of Air force?? Should I tell you the success story of only female Muslim prime minister of the world or I share with you the courage of General Sharif the Ghaxi of Zarb-e-Azab and the brother of Maj. Shabir Sharif Nishan-e-Hyder.??

Mr. President, we are living nation, with living national heroes. The world stands witness to our bravery and like Ulysses we are tested by time and every time we have learnt to stand again, rise again and fight again and not to yield. We are proud of our heroes and we love them all.

This makes Pakistan the nation of heroes and living spirit.

پرائمري استاد جي درد جو داستان ۽ سنڌي شعور کان سوال..!!؟؟

 

جڏهن اڃا عالمي ادب تي جڳ مشهور ڏاهي ڪارل مارڪس جي فلسفي جو اثر نه ٿيو هيو، ان وقت تائين دنيا جي ادب ۾ ٽريجڊي جي مکيه ڪردار لاءِ يوناني ڏاهي ارسطو جي ڏنل وضاحت ٽريجڊي جو هيرو يا مک ڪردار ڪنهن اعليٰ خاندان سان واسطو رکندڙ يا ڪو شاهي ماڻهو هجي تي عمل ٿيندو هيو. يوناني ٽريجڊي کان ويندي شيڪسپيئر تائين هر ليکڪ ارسطوءَ جي ڏنل اصولن تي عمل ڪندي پنهنجا ٽريجڊي جا ڪردار سرجيا.

پوءِ 19صدي جي عمومًا حالتن جي ڪري ۽ مارڪس جي پرچار ڪري خاص طور تي دنيا جي ادب ۾ هڪ نئون لاڙو آيو ته روز مره جا عام ڪردار يعني هڪ سپاهي، هڪ دڪاندار، هڪ استاد يا ڪو مزدور به ٽريجڊي جو مک ڪردار ٿي سگهي ٿو. هي لاڙو خاص طور تي روسي ادب ۾ ڏاڍو مقبول ٿيو ۽ پوءِ انگريزي ادب ۾ به برنارڊ ستا، هارڊي، ابسن ۽ ٻين چوٽيءَ جي لکارين هن لاڙي کي اپنايو.

سنڌي ادب جو ڳاڻيٽو به دنيا جي مڃيل ادبن ۾ ٿئي ٿو ۽ سنڌي ادب ۾ اها جدت آهي ته ان دنيا جي ادبي لاڙن کي هميشه پنهنجي اندر جاءِ ڏني آهي. امر جليل جي اڪيلي ناول ”نيٺ گونگي ڳالهايو“ کان ويندي اياز، تاجل ۽ بخاري جي شاعري ۾ مسڪين ماروئڙن، جهانگيئڙن، مزدورن جو ذڪر ان ڳالهه جو گواهه آهي ته سنڌي ادب ۾ هيٺين طبقي جي ماڻهن لاءِ ڪيڏي وسعت ۽ جڳهه آهي.

مان ڪو اديب يا ليکڪ ته نه آهيان پر جنهن واقعي جي طرف مان هن ڪالم ذريعي سنڌ جي ساڃاهه وند سوچ ۽ ادبي دوستن جو ڌيان ڇڪائڻ چاهيان ٿو اهو واقعو سنڌ جي نثري ۽ شاعري ادب ۾ ٽريجڊي لاءِ هڪ اهم پلاٽ جو سبب ٿي سگهي ٿو. اسان جي زندگين ۾ ميڊيا جو هڪ وڏو ڪردار رهيو آهي. ميڊيا جنهن معاملي کي جنهن طرف چاهي اڇالي ته اڇالي سگهي ٿي. اڄ اسان جنهن دور مان گذري رهيا آهيون اهو هڪ وڏي امتحان ۽ ڏکين حالتن جو دور آهي. هر طرف بم ڌماڪا، موتمار خودڪشن حملا ۽ دهشتگرديءَ جا واقعا اخبارن جي زينت بڻجن ٿا، جنهن ۾ روزانو انيڪ ماڻهن جي مرڻ جون خبرون اچن ٿيون. اسانجو دماغ ۽ سوچ هاڻ ان ڳالهه جا ايترا عادي ٿي چڪا آهن جو اسان ڪنهن هڪ ماڻهو جي مرڻ جي خبر جو نوٽيس به نه ٿا وٺون. اهڙي خطرناڪ دور ۾ اگر ڪنڊيارو جهڙي هڪ ننڍڙي شهر ۾ هڪ استاد جي مرڻ جي خبر اگر ڪنهن اخبار جي ڪنڊ پاسي ۾ ڇپي ته ڪا خاص هلچل يا ذي شعور روح کي ڌنڌوڙڻ جو سبب نه ٿي بنجي.

استاد عبدالسميع ولد عبدالرحمٰن ميمڻ ڪنڊيارو شهر ۾ هڪ پرائمري استاد هيو جيئن ته عبدالسميع هڪ استاد هيو ۽ اهو به پرائمري استاد ان ڪري شايد سندس ناگهاني موت تي نه ته ڪو مرثيو لکيو ويندو نه ئي ڪو ڪهاڻيڪار شايد سندس اڻوقتائتي موت تي ڪا ڪهاڻي سرجيندو. يا ڪو ڪالم نويس ڪو ڪالم لکندو. 45 سالن جي استاد سميع ميمڻ جو وڏي ۾ وڏو قصور اهو هيو ته هو صرف هڪ پرائمري استاد هيو جنهن پنهنجي قيمتي حياتي جا 23 سال سنڌي قوم جي معصوم شاگردن جي ذهني آبياري لاءِ وقف ڪري ڇڏيا هيا. سندس شاگرد اڄ به ڪيترن ئي چڱن عهدن تي پهچي قوم ۽ ملڪ جي خدمت ڪري رهيا آهن پر سوال پيدا ٿئي ٿو ته ڇا اهي پنهنجي استاد کي مرڻ کانپوءِ سندس جائز حق وٺرائي ڏئي سگهندا؟ سوال ته اهو به پيدا ٿئي ٿو ته استاد سميع جي معصوم ٻارڙن جي هاڻي ڪفالت ڪنهن جي ذميواري ٿيندي جيڪي هڪ طرف ته معاشي بدحالي جو شڪار آهن ٻئي طرف هنن معصومن جي مٿان سندن پيءُ جي نيڪ نيتي ۽ ڪردار تي لڳايل سوال سندن ذهني اوسر تي هميشه لاءِ ناڪاري اثر ڇڏيندا.

هڪ ذي شعور ماڻهو چڱي طرح سان سمجهي سگهي ٿو ته هڪ پرائمري استاد جنهن جي زندگي جو ڪل ڪمايو سندس پگهار هجي ۽ پگهار کان علاوه ٻيو ڪو ذريعه معاش نه هجي ته اهو شخص ڇهن مهينن کان مسلسل پگهار بند هئڻ ڪري ڪهڙي ڀوڳنا ۽ عذاب ۾ گذرندو هوندو.

منهنجي هڪ ليڪچرار دوست چواڻي ته پنجاهه هزاررپيه پگهار هئڻ باوجود سندس مهيني جي آخري ڏينهن ۾ گذران اوڌر تي ٿيندو آهي هڪ مهيني جي پگهار بند ٿيڻ معنيٰ زندگي جو رڪجي وڃڻ ٿيندو. ان صورتحال ۾ استاد سميع جيڪو هڪ پرائمري استاد ۽ پنهنجي خاندان جو اڪيلو ڪفيل هو ان هي ڇهه مهينا بغير پگهار جي ڪيئن گذاريا هوندا؟؟؟؟

ڊيوٽي جي پابند ۽ 1992ع ۾ پرائمري استاد مقرر ٿيل استاد سميع جي زندگي ۾ ان وقت هيروشما جهڙو بم اچي ڪِريو، جڏهن جون مهيني ۾ نوشهروفيروز ضلعي جي 95 ڄڻن جي لسٽ پڌري ٿي جن تي غيرقانوني ڀرتي جو الزام لڳل هيو، سيڪريٽري تعليم جي حڪم مطابق انهن استادن جي پگهار هڪدم بند ڪئي وئي، استاد سميع لاءِ اهو حڪم ۽ سندس نالو ان لسٽ ۾ هجڻ ڪنهن عذاب کان گهٽ ڪو نه هيو، سندس لاءِ پريشاني جو سبب سندس جو نالو لسٽ ۾ هجڻ نه هيو. ڇو ته 92ع جي ڀرتي هجڻ ۽ 98ع ۾ هڪ انڪوائري ذريعي ڪليئر ٿيڻ باجود سندس جا ڪاغذ ۽ رڪارڊ ان ڳالهه لاءِ سندس هٿيار هئا ته دير يا سوير هي وري هن مشڪل گهڙي ۾ پار پوندو پر هڪ پرائمري استاد لاءِ سندس ٽوٽل ذريعه معاش يعني پگهار جو بند ٿيڻ هڪ عذاب کان گهٽ نه هيو. ڪافي ڀڄ ڊڪ کانپوءِ ضلعي جي اختيارين کي احساس ٿيو ته استاد سميع جو نالو غلطيءَ سان ان لسٽ ۾ اچي ويو هيو پر هاڻي ته دير ٿي چڪي هئي. ننڍن ٻارڙن جي ڪفالت، گهر جو ڪاروهنوار هلائڻ لاءِ استاد سميع کي آگسٽ جي مهيني ۾ گهر جو سامان وڪڻو پيو ۽ جڏهن سيپٽمبر ۾ هن پرائمري استاد پنهنجي گهر ۾ رکيل اڪيلي تفريح جي سامان ٽي وي (T.V) کي وڪڻيو ته سندس معصوم ٻارڙن جو رڙيون ۽ چيخون هٿوڙن وانگر مٿي ۾ لڳڻ لڳيون… معصوم ٻارڙن کي ڪهڙي خبر ته سندس والد جو درد ڇا آهي؟ ۽ سندن والد ڪهڙي درد جي ڀوڳنا ۾ گذاري رهيو آهي.

هڪ طرف حالتن جي شدت هن پرائمري استاد کي انڌيري جي ڌٻڻ ۾ ڌڪي رهي هئي ته ٻئي طرف ارباب اختيارات لاءِ هن مسئلي تي غور ڪرڻ لاءِ ڪو وقت نه هيو. نومبر مهيني ۾ هن خود دار استاد لاءِ فالج جو حملو ناگزير ٿي پيو جڏهن سندس گهر ۾ کائڻ لاءِ ڪجهه به نه بچيو ۽ ساٿي استادن گڏجي سڏجي چندو ڪري سندس گهر جي وساميل چلهه ٻارڻ لاءِ سندس مدد ڪئي. اهڙي خطرناڪ دور مان گذرڻ باوجود به تصديق ٿيل ذريعن موجب استاد سميع اسڪول ۾ حاضر ٿيندو هيو پر تعليم کاتي جي ارباب اختيان جي مٿي تي جونءِ به نه چري، هاڻي اگر اهي چون ته سندن کي استاد جي حالت جي باري ۾ ڪا خبر نه هئي ته ان کان وڌيڪ ٻيو ڪو ڪوڙ ٿي نه ٿو سگهي. ڊسمبر جو مهينو ۽ ڇهن مهينن کان بند پگهار، فالج جو هڪ ٻيو حملو استاد سميع جي برداشت کان ٻاهر هيو.

هي سٽون اگر ڪير تجربيڪار قلمڪار يا ڏات ڌڻي لکي ها ته يقينًا اوهان جي اکين ۾ ڳوڙهن جو سمنڊ تري اچي ها پر افسوس جو جهڙي طرح مان ۽ منهنجو قلم بيوس آهيون ته هڪ استاد جي تڪليف ڀرئي موت کي ان جي مان مطابق چٽي سگهون. ساڳي طرح بيوسي استاد سميع ۾ به اسان لاءِ ۽ سنڌ جي ساڃاهه وند شعور لاءِ هزارين سوال ڇڏي 22 ڊسمبر 2015ع جي هڪ ٿڌي صبح جو هميشه هميشه لاءِ اسان کي ڇڏي ويو. مزيدار ڳالهه ته 21 ڊسمبر جو به هي استاد پنهنجي ڊيوٽي تي حاضر هيو…..

استاد سميع جي ناگهاني موت تي اگر نظر وجهجي ته هي ظاهري طور تي قتل جو هڪ واضح ڪيس آهي. هن موت يا قتل جو ذميوار ڪير آهي؟ اهو ته سنڌ جو شعور ئي طئي ڪندو. ڇا استاد سميع کي انصاف ملي سگهندو؟ ۽ سندس ٻارن جي ڪفالت هاڻي ڪير ڪندو؟ ان کان علاوه ڪيترائي انيڪ سوال شعور کي جهنجهوڙن ٿا. ظاهري طور تي ڏٺو وڃي ته هڪ پرائمري استاد جو ناگهاني موت ڪا ايڏي وڏي خاص ڳالهه نه آهي جو سيڪريٽري تعليم ازخود نوٽيس وٺي.

معصوم بسمه جي موت کانپوءِ بلاول ڀٽو ته لياري پهچي سندس والد سان تعزيت ڪري افسوس جو اظهار ڪري ٿو ۽ ذميوارن خلاف سخت قدم کڻڻ جو واعدو به ڪري ٿو.

ڇا ساڳي طرح سيڪريٽري تعليم استاد سميع جي معصوم ٻارن تي شفقت جو هٿ رکندي ساڻن تعزيت ڪندو؟؟

ڇا استاد سميع جي ٻارن جي داد رسي ٿيندي؟ يا سنڌ جا پرائمري استاد پاڻ کي ننڌڻڪو سمجهي پگهار سان گڏ ڪنهن ٻئي ذريعي معاش جو بندوبست به ڪن.؟؟

اسين سمجهون ٿا ته سيڪريٽري تعليم جي استاد سميع سان ڪا به دشمني ڪا نه هئي نه ئي شايد ٻنهي ڪڏهن هڪ ٻئي کي ڏٺو به هيو، پر سيڪريٽري تعليم کي هاڻي ته اک کولڻ گهرجي ۽ هن واقعي جي مڪمل انڪوائري ڪري ذميوارن خلاف ايڪشن کنيو وڃي ته ڪيئن هڪ شريف استاد جو نالو غلطي سان هڪ لسٽ ۾ شامل ڪيو ويو جيڪو ان جي موت جو ڪارڻ بڻيو..

قرآن پاڪ ۾ هڪ جاءِ تي ارشاد ٿيل آهي ته جڏهن الله هڪ قوم تي عذاب لاءِ فرشتن کي موڪليو ته فرشتن عرض ڪيو ته سائين هن ظالم قوم ۾ ڪجهه عبادت گذار ۽ تنهنجا مڃيندڙ ٻانها به موجود آهن انهن تي عذاب ڪيئن ڪيون؟ ته الله تعاليٰ جواب ڏنو ته جيئن ته اهي ظالم جي ظلم تي چپ (خاموش ٿي) ڪري ويٺا هيا ان ڪري اهي به عذاب جا مستحق آهن.

ان کان اڳ جو اسان سڀ ان عذاب جا مستحق ٿيون اچو ته گڏجي مرحوم استاد سميع ميمڻ جي موت خلاف گڏجي ڪو آواز اٿاريون .Email:mike_salu@yahoo.com

Persia persecuted Greeks for centuries.

For long the Arabs were ignorant Bedouins.

English was the Sick man of Europe.

America was the crushed colony of British Imperialism.

English occupied India for more than one hundred years.

The opium eater Chinese were sleeping in the slumber of ignorance.

 

But then Mr. President, Worthy Guests, Respected Teachers and Ladies and Gentlemen the human history witnessed miracles happening. In the days of Alexander Persia succumbed to Greece.

The prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) revolutionized the lives of Arab Bedouins and turned them into the guides of entire world.

As English was the sick man of the Europe; with arrival of Queen Elizabeth it emerged as the most progressive nation of the world.

George Washington clinched the freedom from the sharp jaws of British imperialism for America.

Quaid-e-Azam and Mahatma Gandhi defeated the evil designs of English and won freedom for Pakistan and India.

 

Ladies and Gentlemen

 

It was charismatic leadership of Mao-ze-Tung awakened the slumbering Chinese and led them to the economic prosperity and the most industrious nation on the map of the world.

 

Mr. President a true leader is one who leads his nation from bottom and tells them all the ways of honest living, graceful ways, belief in struggle and pride.

 

A true leader like Mahathir Mohammad and turned his nation into the lion of the East. Today Malaysia is the modest and modern Muslim state. Singapore is a deserted island but not its leaders showed vision of prosperity to its people.

When a leader leads his nation and his people, the time follows the gesture of his eyes. Oceans feel inferior to his imagination, stars watch him from the distance and heaven salutes for his struggle and farsightedness. This leads them speak to God, this leader becomes the co-creator with the God.

 

Iqbal translates it in this way.

 

“Thou created night and I made the lamp.

Thou created clay and I made cup”.

Yes Mr. President a true leader changes a lot of his people and plays the role in peace and prosperity of the nation. A True leader holds the torch of freedom, equality and fraternity in his hands.

 

Ladies and Gentlemen a country can survive without natural Resources like Japan but can never flourish without true leadership like African nations.

The tough battles of life can never be won without true leadership. Mughals lost their vast empire owing to a vacuum in leadership.

I shall sum up my speech with these beautiful lines of Iqbal.

“Farsighted, visionary, humble in gesture.

these are the characteristics of the true leader of life”.

2015 an Estimate for the province of Sind.

The year 2015 has taken its last breath and now it has become the part of the history. Today we live in 2016, with many hopes, expectations, optimism and good wishes attached with it. But why do we forget that this is the same practice we had carried out last year too.
It is OK one must be optimist in all conditions yet let us caste a glance on 2015 as a year for the people of Sind. The year remained the continuity of the long rule of Sued Qaim Ali shah who is imposed upon the people of Sind by incompetent and power intoxicated leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party. Sindh suffers this pitiable and worst rule for eighth consecutive year and as the practice of the past nothing worth mentioning took place in the lives of common people. The only good thing that occurred in 2015 was Local Government Elections. These elections brought with them cash prizes, hollow promises of job or other facilities of personal gain. And with the magic wand PPP swept the elections throughout the Sind with glorious and heavy margin victory.
The present leadership of PPP has found a new formula of canvassing votes that was even not known by late Bhuttos.
The people of Sind cried against the pangs of ignorance, illiteracy, injustice,lawlessness and lack of civil facilities. The roads are dilapidated and the drainage has only become a dream of Moen jo Daro. What to talk of the floods even the rain can inflict the misery to the lives of common people. But the government takes no notice of it, rather shamelessly propagate their Utopian projects and packages to win numbers from the CM. The C. M is either incompetent yo realise the reality or deliberately closes his eyes at this worst form of performance.
The only notable action that Govt of Sind could take to do her best was to defend Dr. Asim but the 2015 ended hurriedly without witnessing the final results of the match of tug of war between the province and the federal government. Had the CM protested and acted like this on other issues of public interest the Lot of the people of the province might have been changed.
The education of the province continue to suffer owing to the unique decisions taken by the authorities at policy making level. The suspended teachers of 2014 suffered the same plight in 2015 too as no enquiry nor any decision was taken regarding them. The test of Head Master/mistress was made controversial while denying the right to NTS qualified teachers. The problem of ghost schools and ghost teachers remained ghost this year. Same is the plight of other departments. Corruption n bad governance remained the fate of the people of the province. In the given scenario can we expect anything good from 2016 or it will be just an other year of disappointments, despair or dismal performance…

Memoirs of 2015

The last sun of 2015 sets in the west with its last glorious ray shining the earth and giving way to much optimist more clear and eventful sun of 2016 and taking it place tomorrow. Meanwhile sitting in the corner of a hotel near the canal, while observing the setting sun and flowing water under the bridge I count the blessings, events and memories of 2015. If assessed properly 2015 was not much different year from its predecessors, yet every moment of life has its worth, significance and fragrance and this was not a moment rather a full ripe year so it surely has its story to tell.

As a routine ritual, I had welcomed 2015 with much optimism and had planned and scheduled many activities to be carried out. The first month brought me the worst news of sad demise of my father in law who was more than only to be a father in law. He was my trusted friend, companion, guide and mentor. He inculcated in me the confidence of living with smiling face even in all odds and hardships. His art of living was exemplary and surely enviable. Having strong belief in nature and ways of Allah, he was a perfect success story that I will narrate next time. His sad demise brought a way of sorrow as well as unfolded challenges to all of us in general to his sons and family members in particular. The impact was so devastating that even the rest of months could not compensate the loss and my daring brother in law is still struggling bravely to manage the loss (May the challenging crises successfully get settled in 2016).

For me 2015 was the year of pain, agony and struggle. Throughout the year I have been successfully fighting against the painful disease and though I could not win over it in 2015, I am determined to defeat it in 2016. However, the physical pain was less torment able than the mental agonies and sufferings. Unfortunately, I saw this year the hollowness of so celled elites, cunningness and hypocrisy of highly literate once and even the worst realization that how much materialist and individual profit seekers we are that we even care not about the national, cultural and ethical foundations. This shock and mental torture has been constantly torturing me and I doubt if I would get out of this in 2016.

In term of academics, this year was bit improving one in term of teaching but very poor in my own studies. I could not find time or courage to finalize my research proposal in time, owing to various reasons (The leading one being my lethargic attitude and negligence) but owing to encouragement of certain friends, I mustered courage to finalize it in the last month of December and most surely the new year will held the engagement of this wandering soul into a literary and research pursuit.

As narrated earlier, I was bit satisfied (If not fully) with my performance as a teacher but the poor response from my students compelled me to revise, revisit and criticize my teaching strategy seriously and as a result I found many gaps in my teaching So, by the 2016 I’ll try to fill in those gaps and I am sure my teaching skills will be integrated with these observations and students would be benefitted with this.

2015 is marked with my various assignments carried out as the Deputy Director Distance Education at Salu, Khairpur. In this capacity, I attended training workshop at Islamabad where time spent with friends while being at Islamabad and then at Murree needs full description, Dr. Chandan lal and Dr. Salman know it very well that if I describe these events in detail it will result in a voluminous book of travelogue. Visiting Dadu, Larkana, Sukkur and Shikarpur for this assignment adds little charm to over all dull and boring days of 2015.

The year is marked with my experience of contesting elections at University and then ultimately withdrawing my candidature at the nick of time owing to my personal weakness in emotional stability. Yet the event played a major role in learning the new lessons of life.

As narrated earlier, throughout the year I was struggling in terms of health so, I always tried to keep myself cool. I often tried to enjoy even during the worst moments. My smiling on the occasions irritated many, for they counted it sarcastic. This smile and lightness of mood put me in trouble during exams at Karachi when the invigilator reported against me for irritating her. The authorities called for my explanation and then they excused me for the misunderstanding. (Another event that needs full details)

During the scotching summer days we found solace in the moderate and cold environment of northern areas. Traveling with like- minded friends enhances the chances of enjoyment and outing. For me, it was not only an outing but in fact the opportunity of learning and observation. The beauty of land and beauty among people enchanted our weird and weary soul and when we returned, we could not forget the charismatic features of land for many days. At Lake Saif ul Malook as if we were surrounded by the real fairies. The sun had hid his angry face behind the clouds and that shadowy day with dazzling at Saif ul Malook was the happiest and the most romantic day of our life. The blue water, surrounded by green mountains patched with white snow and people from different parts of the country roaming in carefree style added the charms of the scene and had it not been a compulsion to return; my heart wanted to stay there till I describe the scenic beauty in the thick volume of legendry epic of mesmerizing beauty. With all these beautiful moments and the pangs of hard events, separation, wait, despair and longing, failure, cries and sorrows that I kept hidden from the rest of the world, this 2015 is bidding good bye. Tomorrow will be a new year, a year of new stories, new happenings and new legends. I can just wish it to be better than 2015. Adieu 2015 and welcome 2016.
